MY APPROACH
Earlier in my career I worked as an occupational psychologist helping organisations develop their workforce and helping them put in place practices which helped them to recruit, develop and retain a talented workforce. I also worked with clients on an individual level to help them in their career choices and decisions. Retraining as a Psychotherapist has enabled me to help people move forward in all aspects of their lives not just their careers. I empower my clients by helping them to understand their role in their own challenges as this is the only bit they can control. When they have this awareness, they then have the insight to understand the changes they can make in their lives. I have also learned that my relationship with myself is the most the most important relationship in my life – improve that and almost everything in our life will improve. It’s so easy to fall into a habit of being negative about ourselves.

“The only person who can pull me down is myself, and I'm not going to let myself pull me down anymore.”—C. JoyBell C.

"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change" Carl Rogers

"You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection" Buddha

I use an eclectic approach depending on the needs of my clients, drawing on gestalt psychotherapy, CBT, mindfulness and a sense of humour and lightness where appropriate.
